Shrek gets promo release

DVD duplication firms have been hard at work producing copies of DreamWorks Animation's Shrek The Third - and their efforts will be rewarded it seems, as Blockbuster launches a comprehensive national promotional campaign to support its release in the US.

Exclusive merchandise, in-store sweepstakes and online sweepstakes with great prizes and millions of bonus offers.

"Families have been eagerly awaiting the DVD release of 'Shrek the Third'," Curt Andrews, chief marketing officer at Blockbuster, commented.

"We wanted to create a comprehensive program that would build on the excitement surrounding this title, delivering fun, added-value to Blockbuster customers both in-store and online."

All Blockbuster customers will be automatically entered into an Ogre the Top sweepstakes with in-store purchase or rental. Winners will receive a 63" plasma TV or a five night trip to a destination such as the Bahamas or Aruba with Travelocity.
