DVD sales on the up
Good news for DVD duplication firms - as DVD sales are enjoying a rare old time of it, according to a new report.
The Hollywood Reporter says in a article that DVD sales are benefiting from the new way in which consumers are now purchasing their favourite films and shows.
Instead of the traditional Tuesday rush - termed as such because most DVD releases hit the shops on a Tuesday - DVD aficionados are waiting until a few weeks later, as they know that the price might have dropped marginally by then.
Sales are accumulating over a full week or two, rather than the fanboy Tuesday frenzy," said Steve Feldstein, senior vice-president marketing and corporate communications for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, tells the entertainment news service.
"With uncertainty in the economy and gas prices creeping toward $4 a gallon, trips and purchases are more considered and consolidated."
