Personalised flash drives 'appeal to the fashion-conscious'

Many consumers like to be up to date with the latest technology, but maintain their individuality.

At least, one firm hopes so, given that it is offering personalisation services for USB flash drives.

The marketing possibilities of memory sticks are made clear by the service, which allows consumers to redesign the shell of their drive to meet with their own style requirements.

US firm Pexagon is appealing to the public by allowing them to design their own USB flash drive from a series of set templates, to which text can be added.

"You can make make it easier to identify yours easily if it ever gets lost (and found). A customized flash drive could make a good gifting idea too," asserts women's personal technology website popgadget.net.

Recently, SmartHouse reported on a 16GB Memory Stick Pro Duo developed by Sony to provide improved storage capacity for this needing to transport large amounts of data.
