Plextor DVD duplication drives 'support HD formats'
With the war between Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs arguably drawing to a close, Plextor is looking to cater for those who chose the losing format.
The news comes as a number of industry operatives have withdrawn support for HD-DVDs.
But Plextor notes that a significant number of such discs have already been sold and has incorporated support for both high-definition formats in its latest DVD duplication drives.
Commenting on sales figures from the US, director of business development and marketing Amber Wang says: "More than 1.5 million HD-DVD movies have been sold."
"Our new drives give customers the ability to play HD-DVD movies as well as Blu-ray discs," the spokesperson adds.
Plextor recently added to its selection of DVD duplication solutions with the launch of one, three and seven-drive disc burning towers.
These are capable of creating up to eight DVDs or 22 CDs per hour, according to figures from the manufacturer.
