Partnership 'to benefit DVD duplication industry'

providers are likely to benefit from a new partnership, it has been claimed.

Rimage, a provider of digital publishing systems, has collaborated with encoding operator Digital Rapids to create an end-to-end solution for coding and production of DVDs.

This incorporates professional DVD duplication features such as the inclusion of additional digital content and direct-to-disc labels.

Manny Almeida, executive vice-president of sales and marketing for Rimage, says the system is likely to be of benefit "from post production studios to conversion and duplication specialists".

The software allows for master discs to be produced from a single volume without menus or for more complex structures to be put in place using multiple volumes.

Rimage recently announced an agreement for its technology to be incorporated into products from UK-based media solutions provider Marquis Broadcast.

In this way, the two firms explained that screener DVDs and other rough-cut discs could be created more easily.
