Eco issues of DVD duplication highlighted

The environmental issues relating to the DVD duplication industry have been highlighted by a provider of such services in the US, it has emerged.

Acutrack maintains that DVD duplication can offer businesses involved in the printing and shipping of large quantities of paper-based information a way of reducing their energy costs and carbon emission contributions.

In addition, the company insists that many providers of DVD duplication services are now taking steps to ensure that their products are recyclable and can be reused, which is reducing the amount of waste the industry is responsible for.

Reflecting on the issues, the firm's executive vice-president Asheesh Barman said: "It's simply not possible to continue with business as usual and not take into consideration how business practices are affecting our environment."

Last week, the CDDigitalCard company insisted that DVD duplication projects are best left to expert providers of this kind of service.
