World's fastest Blu-ray recorder unveiled
The world's fastest Blu-ray recorders have been unveiled and will be available on the market in August.
Buffalo has launched its 8X Blu-ray burner which is based on Panasonic's SW-5584 drive.
It is set to be available as an internal or external unit and, if used as a basic DVD burner, its speed can double to 16X.
The devices can record to both single and dual layer Blu-ray discs as well as a standard DVD.
Supplied with both the devices is the CyberLink PowerDirector 7 software and on the external drive it is linked to a PC via a USB port.
The drives are to be made available in Japan in August for around £200 with no release dates confirmed for the rest of the world.
Blu-ray recently hosted a party with Sony Playstation 3 at the Playboy mansion to celebrate the launch of the ESPN Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, howrah.org reports.
