What Our Templates Are For
We have created CD templates for the major design applications available. These are set-up with precisely the correct dimensions and are set at the correct d.p.i. resolution. They also include a 3mm bleed area, where appropriate, so that when cutting down there is no danger of a white non-printed border being cut along the edges.
How to use the templates
Click on the links on the right of the tables to download the relevant templates from the table below and then move / develop your designs in them. Note: If templates are not shown here or unavailable, please email us at design@amstore.co.uk

We have presented our templates in compressed file formats, so that download times are quicker and files are protected in transit. For PC files (.zip extension) please use WinZip, which can be found at www.winzip.com. For Mac files (.sit extension) please use Stuffit Expander, which can be found at www.stuffit.com.
* (for Illustrator) We support Illustrator for Mac directly, but not for PC. However, you may still design in Illustrator for PC, so long as you convert all text to outlines ("Type" menu, convert to outlines) before sending your designs to us.
** (for Quark) We do not support Quark for PC. However, you may still design in Quark for PC, but you will need to Output your Designs as PDFs and send these to us.

Use of bleed and positioning of text
Applying a bleed to the design means simply that any graphics or colours that go up to the edge of the design should be increased in size or positioned so that they go 3mm outside it. We recommend that for the best visual result that text should be placed at least 4mm inside the edge of the design.
Other applications
You may still be able to successfully submit your designs even if we do not provide templates for the applications above. To do this please follow these guidelines:
- Before starting to design, ensure your application allows you to Save As or Export the image in one of the following formats (otherwise you will not be able to get the designs to us):
PDF
Tiff
Highest resolution JPG
EPS - Please then go to the PDF templates above for your product, and click the links to download and open them. They will give you all the exact sizes of printed products and media you will need to start designing.
- Some applications will allow you to Open or Import these PDFs for use as templates. If not, you will need to set up the page sizes manually (including 3mm bleed areas), using the dimensions given in the PDFs.
- Output your finished designs in one of the formats specified in 1). If you have a choice then we prefer you to send either Tifs or highest quality JPGs.
